ACR+ is an international network of cities and regions who share the aim of promoting smart resource consumption and sustainable management of waste through prevention at source, reuse and recycling. The association provides support to regional and local authorities in their new challenges and promotes cooperation and partnership to develop ecoefficient solutions.

Role in the Project

ACR+ is and has been involved in a number of different projects related to resource efficiency, waste management and waste prevention and has therefore a broad expertise in the issues that form the context of this project. Throughout all these projects, ACR+ has been responsible or was a main actor for the communication and dissemination tasks and does therefore have not only the technical but also the methodological expertise and experience relevant for this project. In addition, ACR+ builds on an extensive network which is very valuable for the projects’ dissemination activities. As a network of local authorities dealing with organic waste on a daily basis, thanks to its members’ experience, ACR+ can collect valuable information and good practices in the issue targeted in this project. Furthermore, some of ACR+ members have already been involved in research activities with regard to innovative waste management, which will be of great value for the projects’ roll-out.
